The countries which have banned the Internet are: Maldives, Tunisia, Belarus, Libya, Syria, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, Myanmar/Burma, Cuba, Turkmenistan, North Korea.
2. Describe what the following image is about.
I think the following image is about two separate things. The first one is that the country of China has now officially banned ‘YouTube’. The other thing is that the Dal Li Lama has spoken about how he believes the Internet, especially You-Tube, is very bad for the community and can be quite offensive.
3. How would you feel if the Australian government banned the Internet? Discuss how it would effect you.
If the Australian Government banned the Internet, I would feel outraged, and betrayed. The reason for this is that I think that I am being denied my right of free speech. It is generally unfair if the government decides to ban such a public medium, where people can provide their own insight on every possible aspect of life.
If this was to happen, it would affect me a lot as it would become a lot harder to actually do school work. It would take a much longer amount of time to complete tasks, especially projects like these or assignments.
